The "55" became the "super 55" and was unstyled, sharing the trunk and knee of the #60 horizontal. I think the #4 digit in all the more modern vertical 645, 747 etc derive from #40 being the origional vertical they made.

There are no operators instructions at all, nothing for what lube and where either. It was all they had for my machine other than the birth certificate. Mine was sent to Sunbeam in 1955.
