17/01/2003#0183;#32;Put the pulley on the fine downfeed shaft behind the hand crank. Buy a cheapy 612v variable power supply on Ebay, and wire it up. The motor I used was geared down to about 30 RPM at 18v. You should be able to figure out suitable pulleys based on the speed of the geared motor you can find, and your needs.
I have an Enco RF30 clone mill/drill with power downfeed in mediocre condition and a Powermatic 1200 drill press. Eventually I intend to get a Bridgeport sized mill. Since I do not have unlimited space I am thinking of getting rid of the Powermatic. The only real advantages I see with the drill press are:
